The AG-1(CP), under the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff of Army, G-1, is responsible for setting long-range, strategic direction and policy governing the management and utilization of Department of the Army civilian employees, both government and contractor.  Within the AG-1(CP), the Civilian Information Services Division (CISD) provides operational support to numerous civilian personnel management programs including programming and executing budgets for automation, training, and operations. CISD, utilizing a mix of government and contractor personnel, is responsible for all automation support provided to the AG-1(CP) community worldwide.

ICS provides a broad array of operational support services to Army Personnel Systems and Programs to include a full range of IT services such as: Data Management, Database Administration, Network Administration, System Administration, Software Application Support, Configuration Management, Helpdesk Activities, Acquisition Support, Video Teleconferencing, Information Assurance, Information System Security, and Operation and Maintenance (O&M) support to three Army Personnel data centers and approximately 120 civilian personnel offices.
