Senior Application Developer

SUMMARY: International Computing Systems, Inc., a small business, seeks an experienced senior-level ASP.NET Web Developer to perform development on our client’s system and external web sites. We will consider a full-time, part-time or contract position for the right person depending upon skills and requirements. The developer will plan, design and implement new web projects, maintain current web sites and site content, and integrate with back end systems as needed. A candidate must be able to integrate quickly into the team & work independently. Teamwork, attention to detail, and good communication skills are a must.

REQUIRED SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:
 Experience in JAVA, VB.net or C#.net
 Using SQL queries against a Microsoft SQL server database in Java, VB.net and or C#.net
 Able to write clean code without using third party API’s
 Calling stored procedures from VB.net or C#.net

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Candidate must able to perform site visits to client’s facility as

EDUCATION: Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent education and experience.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE:
 A minimum of 5 years proven experience designing and developing professional, database-driven,
interactive web sites.
 A minimum of 2 years developing ASP.NET web sites in C# using Visual Studio.NET.
 ASP.NET 2.0 experience will be helpful, especially experience with upgrading ASP.NET 1.1 sites and code to version 2.0
 The ability to write clean, consistent, well-documented C# code following a previously established style is a must.
 Must be able to test & debug your own code and must be able to write & test pages to display in all major web browsers (XHTML knowledge is a requirement).
 Prior experience using XML, XSL / XSLT for the web will be useful.
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 Experience with Perl & Perl CGI scripts for the web is helpful.
 Linux experience and knowledge of the Linux OS will also be helpful, but is not required.

SUMMARY: International Computing Systems, Inc., a small business, seeks an experienced mid-level Windows Systems Administrator. The Systems Administrator is responsible for the support of Windows server applications, systems and network environments as well as helping to maintain workstation level Windows 7 based images and VM environment. This is a mid-level position that requires the candidate to participate in both system and network administration in support of United States Army sites worldwide. Candidates must have a strong technical background and an interest in further developing both systems and network administration skills. General expectation for this candidate is that they will work closely under the direction of more senior team members and be given an opportunity to further develop their technical skills. As their skills progress, job responsibilities will increase. Microsoft SMS and Ghost imaging experience would be strongly desirable as well as experience working in a Microsoft Active Directory (AD) environment. This position may require periodic travel both in the continental United States as well as overseas so the candidate should either currently hold a valid United States passport or be able to get one. DETAIL JOB DESCRIPTION: As a Windows Systems Administrator you will be responsible for:
 Provide basic system and network administration functions such as managing patch releases, reviewing system logs and maintaining server health. Assure proper systems management including implementing processes such as system configuration management, backup and systems recovery.
 Troubleshooting, repair, escalation & problem resolution of the Windows Server and Network systems.
 Participate in Implementing operational upgrades, system changes, and software loads.  Help to develop and maintain workstation images for Windows workstation. This would include the testing of all operating system and application patches and updates as well as testing the systems against production databases and applications.
 Assist in developing and maintaining SMS packages for pushing operating system and application patches and updates.
 Provide remote support to Army sites as need dealing with problems ranging from solving application and system issues to problems accessing U.S. Army Civilian Personnel systems.
 Travel to U.S. Army sites as needed to provide problem resolution support or to participate in new system deployments. Typically, the candidate would be a member of a team traveling to these sites.

The System Administrator is responsible for effective installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. The system administration tasking will be focused on improving the stability and performance of the system, maintaining and improving the security posture of the systems, continuous monitoring of system health, and troubleshooting issues that arise. This individual is accountable for Linux, storage and application systems that support infrastructure and research and development (R&D). Responsibilities on these systems include SA engineering, operations and support, maintenance and research and development to ensure continual operation.

DETAIL JOB DESCRIPTION: As a Senior Linux Systems Administrator you will be responsible for: SA Engineering
 Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs.
 Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
 Install and configure systems which support infrastructure and/or R&D activities.
 Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
 Contribute to and maintain system standards.
 Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage resources. Operations and Support
 Install and maintain security patches on the operational and development system, which includes but is not limited to, Red Hat Linux, VMWare, Oracle Weblogic, and Apache web services.
 Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
 Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
 Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.

 Upgrade and configure system software that supports infrastructure applications or Asset Management applications per project or operational needs.

 Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
